RCDAS takes in between 30,000 and 40,000 animals each year which means most of our veterinary resources go to spaying and neutering shelter pets.

My pet had an unwanted litter. What should I do?
With over 1,000 pets in our care, kittens and puppies are particularly vulnerable to illness due to their undeveloped immune systems, increasing their risk of euthanasia. If you are able to care for these pets until they’re old enough to be adopted, we can register them in our system with you as their foster. That way, you can get them the care they need from us, and they can stay out of the shelter to give their immune systems a little more time to develop.
