Riverside County Department of Animal Services operates four shelter campuses, and our dedicated shelter and field services teams serve tens of thousands of pets and people every year. When you join RCDAS, you become part of a fast-moving, mission-driven team committed to taking in, caring for, and placing animals, while helping the public access the tools and services they need to care for their pets.
Our shelters are located in Jurupa Valley, San Jacinto, Coachella, and Blythe.

Do you need animal experience to apply?
While animal experience is helpful and valued, it’s not necessary to have animal shelter experience to apply for most of our positions. Applicants should be comfortable working around and interacting with cats, dogs, and other companion animals, but no special skills are needed for most jobs. We are seeking applicants who have strong customer service skills and enjoy working with people just as much as animals. If you have experience working with people in a busy, fast-paced environment, RCDAS could be the perfect fit for you!
