Critter Kiddz Camp returns this summer

Critter Kiddz Camp open to local youth with a heart for animals

For parents looking to fill their kids’ summer calendar with fun and engaging opportunities to learn and grow, Critter Kiddz Camp is a great option. And now is the perfect time to sign up because there are a few spots still open.

Campers ages 6-12 will solve animal mysteries as part of the Animal Detectives camp planned for June 19-23 and will discover the amazingly diverse animal kingdom at the Barnyard Heroes camp scheduled for June 26-30.

Two camps, hosted by Riverside County Animal Services, are planned for two weeks in June at the Western Riverside County Shelter, located at 6851 Van Buren Blvd., in Jurupa Valley. They are made possible by a sponsorship from The ASK Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to animal welfare by providing programs of public awareness, education and communication, as well as County resource support through volunteer and fundraising activities.

“Children have such a wonderful sense of curiosity and love for animals. We want to encourage and support that relationship. So, that’s exactly what the Critter Kiddz Camps are all about,” said Carolyn Badger, president, The ASK Foundation.

Children will explore the worlds of bats, cats and even owls as part of the week-long activities, Badger added. Youngsters can attend just one week or sign up for both weeks.

Each camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday and costs $125 per camper, per week.
