Last Chance to Submit Entries for Fundraiser

MONDAY, Feb. 23, 2015 – The deadline to submit Art for the Animals entries is Thursday, Feb. 26. The entries can be from anyone and from any age group, from beginners to professionals.

Art for the Animals is a fundraiser to benefit shelter animals in Riverside County. Every year, thousands of animals are impounded at the county’s four shelters. Some have special needs. All the proceeds from Art for the Animals go specifically to special-needs animals or projects benefitting homeless pets.

Selected pieces of the donated artwork are auctioned off at our live auction event or on the Department of Animal Services Web site.

Artwork must be an original piece completed by the contributing artist. Animal-themed art is not a requirement; all themes and mediums (sculptures, oil, water color, pastels, pencil and ink, charcoal, photography, jewelry, etc.) are welcomed.

Artists can submit more than one piece, but a separate submission form is required for each donation.

Artwork should be on good quality bond drawing paper, illustration board, canvas, etc. Adult artwork should be matted or framed.

The live auction event is scheduled to be March 29 at the Riverside Art Museum (RAM) in downtown Riverside from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. This event has a free admission. To learn more about Art for the Animals, and to fill out a submission form, go here.
