Animal Control Officer Christina Avila responded on Feb. 26 to a stray goat call in the city of Jurupa Valley, not too far from our main shelter, the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter.
Since that date, the goat has been cared for at the shelter in one of our corrals, next to our big, red barn.
We believed the goat was pregnant – and sure enough, she was.
She gave birth today to one kid. And another one is expected soon. We deal with, as most of you know, mostly in the dog and cat world. And this is the first time we've had a goat give birth at one of our shelters. So, yes, we're enthralled by the cuteness.
