We responded to the fire in Rubidoux this afternoon (Jan. 14) with three officers and helped with the evacuation of 14 pets, including those from a family whose home was destroyed. A Shar Pei mother and her five puppies are included in the 10 dogs that we transported to our main shelter.

Four dogs were already returned to their rightful owners after emergency workers allowed those people back into their properties.

The owners of the dogs that were transported to our Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter in Jurupa Valley will not be charged impound fees.
