What is the Furry Pets Foster Program?

The District 5 Furry Pets Foster Care Program aims to increase adoptions and help pets in District 5 find forever homes. Foster parents are encouraged to seek adoption placement for the pets in their care by acting as an Adoption Ambassador, posting photos and videos of the foster pet on social media and introducing the foster pet to friends and family interested in adoption.

For a limited time, while available funding lasts, foster parents can receive a stipend of $25 per night for fostering a pet in need. Foster parents can receive up to $50 per night if they foster a pair of dogs or cats or a litter of puppies or kittens. Program participants will be allowed to foster a pet for up to 21 days while finding forever homes for their foster pets. To participate, you must be 18 years or older, have a valid ID and reside in Riverside County District 5.
