Marco: Once Neglected, Now Loved

Animal Control Officer Tiffany Fuller retrieved the dog featured here from the Woodcrest neighborhood, near the city limits of Riverside. The dog clearly had been neglected. He had suffered from some type of wound that never was treated medically or professionally. Two of Officer Fuller's colleagues in the Veterinary Services Division of Riverside County Animal Services spent hours removing maggots from the dog, who later was nicknamed Marco. Those veterinary technicians, Krystal Angeles and Itzel Vizcarra, along with Dr. Sara Strongin, made sure Marco recovered. But, as Dr. Strongin mentions here, it was very iffy for Marco when he first came into the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter.
