The Coachella Valley City/County Animal Shelter provides complete animal services for the unincorporated areas of Riverside County. It provides shelter and adoption services for Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage. It provides field services for county areas and the above cities, except La Quinta and Desert Hot Springs. Palm Springs and Indio provide all of their own animal services.

The new Animal Samaritans adoption center will be located at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus. Animal Samaritans is currently located at 72-307 Ramon Road.
